Víbora y Cuervo: Locrine & Other Tales - Saturday, August 22
Víbora y Cuervo: Locrine & Other Tales - Saturday, August 22
PERFORMANCE: Saturday, August 22 at Heidelberg United Church of Christ
Join OrangeMite for Elizabethan English drama fused with Indigenous Mexican storytelling in our upcoming original play, Víbora y cuervo: Locrine and Other Tales. Featuring a legendary viper, Kwinim Tsan, who brings balance and prosperity to the natural world, our new take on these legends takes audiences on a mystical journey, all while holding fast to our specialty of Shakespearean performance.
This is our first-ever FringeSpeare, where we perform the little-known works that were, at one time, attributed to The Bard, known as the “Shakespeare Apocrphya.” Very few people would say this play could be by William Shakespeare, but the original 1590s title page does have this tantalizing bit of text: “Newly Set Forth, Overseen and Corrected by Mr. W. S.” Be a part of the first audience in centuries to see Locrine performed!
