La víbora y el cuervo

AUGUST 2026 - Our Shakespeare-infused adaptation, La víbora y el cuervo (OM’s company’s third Spanish-English bilingual Shakespeare adaptation), combines indigenous legends from the Mam, Kiliwa, and Wixárika people. It is framed around the origin story of La víbora de algodón, which arose from oral traditions of the Huastec people. We find persistent imagery from the more-than-human world in Shakespeare’s Edward III and entwine it with the vipers (víboras) and crows (cuervos) found in legends.
