While you live, tell truth and shame the devil!
— Henry IV, Part 1; Act 3, Scene 1

In this chapter of Shakespeare’s Plantagenet saga, Henry Bolingbroke, now crowned King Henry IV, is faced with challenges to his reign.

His oldest son and heir is engaged in misadventure with the rogue knight Falstaff. A rebellion arises that presents a serious threat to the legitimacy of Henry’s rule. Coupled with his own guilt over the manner of his ascension, Henry must find a way to face these challenges before England descends into chaos. One of Shakespeare’s most beloved histories, it features well-known characters, the hotheaded malcontent Hotspur, the comical and roguish Falstaff, the spirited Mistress Quickly, and the young prince Hal, whose destiny awaits him.

After our 2013 Western adaptation of Henry IV, Parts 1 & 2, entitled Vengeance for Hotspur, this production returns to Shakespeare’s original language and costuming.
