Timon of Athens

15.00

One of William Shakespeare’s most obscure plays, Timon is a seldom-performed tragedy about the magical transience of possession. Most characters in this dark world choose the lowest path. You will see them stoop to the baseboards to pick up coins and dollars, pat Timon on the back, and exit unaffected. They shamelessly flatter him in his home and brazenly abandon him in the woods. Some are so grossly self-serving that it is cartoonish and comical; and some are so tragically hardened by the world in which they live that one weeps at their loneliness.

This 2012 production presents a meta-theatrical perspective without set camera angles and a live audience.
